FeralCare began in 2006 as a non-profit, all-volunteer organization in response to the dramatic rise in the stray and feral cat population throughout Connecticut. This population explosion resulted in the malnutrition and death of countless animals, as well as a substantial increase in the number of cats and kittens requiring care and adoption. 

Our volunteers have worked with local communities throughout the state to implement trap-neuter-return (TNR) solutions, and in the last four-and-a-half years, we have served more than 3,000 cats and kittens. 

FeralCare will now open The Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic, a five-day-a-week, low-cost spay/neuter facility for cats and dogs to further reduce the overpopulation of unwanted animals in our area. Our new building will be located in Stratford with a projected opening in early 2012. We will also run our monthly feral-cat-only clinics with the help of our dedicated volunteers.
